The recent Government Boiler Plus energy initiative is the greatest opportunity for improving boiler energy efficiency standards since the introduction of condensing boilers.

The recent legislation passed in the UK specifies that one of a choice of four energy saving devices must be included with all combi boiler installations from April 2018.

But of these four technologies, only the GasSaver stored flue gas heat recovery system (FGHRS) has the capability of increasing domestic hot water efficiency by as much as 31%.

GasSaver delivers substantial savings for consumers and also brings the SAP rating on new builds down to such a level that other more costly energy efficiency measures can be dispensed with.

Building Services Engineers

Canetis Technologies works with building services engineers using BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method), the Chartered Institute of Engineers (CIBSE), Low Carbon Consultants (LCC) and Low Carbon Energy Assessors (LCEA).

Our products are also of significant interest to other construction professionals such as:

  • architects
  • structural engineers
  • quantity surveyors
  • anyone who has an influence on the sustainability and energy demand of a building.

SAP ratings
The GasSaver dramatically improves SAP ratings on new builds by reducing the Dwelling Emission Rate (DER) by up to 24%.

This enables builders and developers to dispense with other more expensive energy efficiency measures and build the same standard of housing for a much lower cost.

In the UK the Government has provided £44bn in overall support for housing and a target to build 300,000 new homes a year by the mid-2020s. This means that the improvement that the GasSaver FGHR system brings to the SAP rating should be of real interest to all buildings services professionals.

Installers

Canetis Technologies works with members of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE), the professional body for the UK plumbing and heating industry, which includes installers, trainers, trainees, lecturers, manufacturers, consultants, specifiers, designers and public health engineers.

GasSaver technology will be of interest to all these professionals because it is the best way to comply with the UK Government’s new Boiler Plus legislation.

Savings with the GasSaver
Of the choice of four technologies that must be installed with every gas combi boiler from April 2018, as specified by Boiler Plus, only the GasSaver stored flue gas heat recovery system can achieve energy efficiency savings of up to 31%.

Consumers can save up to £180 a year on their gas and water bills, so a boiler with a GasSaver FGHR system is the best kind of boiler you can recommend.

A GasSaver FGHR system is easy to install and requires zero user interaction; it does not depend on the homeowner controlling it and appeals to households who wish to save energy without having to adjust their behaviour in any way.

Homeowners

New legislation in the UK means that from April 2018, when you have a gas combi boiler installed, you’ll need to choose a boiler that includes one of four specified energy saving measures.

Of these four options, only the GasSaver flue gas heat recovery system can deliver exceptional energy efficiency and reduce both energy and water bills.

So what is it and how does it work?
A GasSaver stored flue gas heat recovery system is built into the boiler and requires no user interaction; it does not depend on anyone controlling it and appeals to those who wish to save energy without having to adjust their behaviour in any way.

The GasSaver works by capturing waste heat from the flue gases of a combi boiler. This means that the flue gases that vent into the atmosphere are much cooler which is good news for climate change.

The GasSaver provides both direct energy savings by using the heat recovered from the flue gases to create instant hot water and indirect energy savings by storing the heat from radiators for creating hot water at a later date.

The GasSaver flue gas heat recovery system can deliver exceptional energy efficiency and reduce both energy and water bills.

The really good news is that by choosing the GasSaver system homeowners will save an estimated £180 on their combined energy and water bills every year.
